About me

Hi there! I'm Ivan. I am an ice hockey coach and a player scout based out of Hamina.

From 2017 till 2022 I worked in the KHL as a video coach and a player scout for HC Spartak Moscow and HC Sochi.

My original area of competence was video coaching. I was responsible for filming and analysing games of my club and opponents, and presenting them during coach and player meetings. Also, I was responsible for reviewing arbitrary situations on the ice and taking coach’s challenges.

Over the course of my career I matured into roles of a player scout and an on-ice coach.

I cut videos and wrote reports on professional and amateur players, helped out our goalie coach on the ice during goalie practice sessions and was an assistant coach for the U-20 Spartak team for a while.

Also, I took huge interest in coaching the technique of skating, participated in coaching clinics and workshops on the topic held by prominent skating coaches. I worked on skating with MHL/VHL/KHL caliber junior players and heard positive feedback on my coaching.

Previous to my ice hockey coaching career, I coached football to kids aged 3-9 and was a financial consultant.
